The players battle through the city to stop Malthael and his band of demons, and eventually confront the witch Adria from the preivous Diablo games.
Malthael has stolen the Black Soulstone and taken it to Westmarch trying to use its dark power to help eradicate all humans from Sanctuary. Malthael, the once Archangel of Wisdom, returns as the Angel of Death.
